Lesly Marlene Chavez is a freshman double majoring in multimedia journalism and psychology. She is a photographer the Prospector. Additionally, she is a Terry Scholar recipient and member of the Desert Dance student organization. Her goal is to work in the news media either digitally or TV wise in the future and combined with her psych-degree, she wants to pursue a PhD to become a criminal psychologist and through the use of research she can combine it and enhance hard-news journalism.

For the fourth choreography of the show “Slow Emergences,” the piece “Cosmica Lluvia” was a celebration of Chicano culture through folklorico and the evolution of it, while honoring Carol, the choreographer’s mother who was a Chicano folklorico pioneer.
