According to The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report—an annual report from UTEP campus police—there have been more cases of burglary and aggravated assault this last year.

Throughout 2014, the number of burglary cases was 13, but in 2015 that number rose to a total of 27 cases. Two motor vehicle thefts occurred in 2015, a decrease from 2014.

In 2014 only one case of aggravate assault was reported but increased to 10 cases for the 2015 school year.

One rape offense occurred on one of the campus student housing facilities.
