UTEP’s Gilman Association for Miners Abroad gets ready for takeoff!

At The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), a new student organization is taking flight, UTEP’s Gilman Association for Miners Abroad (GAMA)!

Their goal is simple: send more Miners into study abroad trips and enrich their college education. Staff reporter Viven Noe explores the organization, their goals and impact for UTEP.

Vivien Noe, Staff Reporter

Vivien Noe is a sophomore at the University of Texas at El Paso, studying psychology and media advertising. This is her second semester working as a staff reporter for The Prospector. Noe also participates in volunteering organizations with goals of serving her community. Her long-term goal is to establish a career in media using her skills in journalism and psychology to combat misinformation and raise campaigns about important issues to her such as mental health and human rights.

Iziah Moreno, Photo Editor

Iziah Moreno is a junior media advertising student at the University of Texas at El Paso. He is the photo editor for both The Prospector and Minero Magazine and is the treasure for National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). After graduation, he hopes to work in the world of media.
