El Paso broke its early voting record on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and it appears it will continue to grow when early voting ends this Friday.

Throughout the past 10 days, 115,000 votes were cast during early voting as of 1 p.m Wednesday. This broke the record that 2008 set originally when 114,765 votes were registered.

El Paso’s increase in voting is among the highest in Texas, but continues to be one of the lowest counties who have cast a vote as of Tuesday, Nov. 1.

By Tuesday, 26 percent of registered voters in El Paso had voted, while Harris County registered a 32 percent, 31 percent in Dallas County, 35 percent in Tarrant County, 33 percent in Bexar County, and 38 percent in Travis County.

The last day of early voting is Friday, Nov. 4 and Election Day is Nov. 8.
