UTEP’s School of Nursing has been ranked the 30th best school from a total of 35o nursing schools. UTEP is among the best schools in the Southwest, according to NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com.

All schools were evaluated on three specific criteria, according to the Nursing Schools Almanac.

The institution’s academic prestige and perceived value. The breath and depth of nursing programs offered. Student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure exam.

John Hadjimarcou, Ph.D., first came to UTEP in 1994, starting as a professor and eventually being appointed interim dean in 2023. On Mar. 25, 2024, Hadjimarcou was named the permanent dean of the Woody L. Hunt College of Business.
