The village of Vinton is giving away free sandbags for their residents during the current monsoon season.

City officials are encouraging residents, who live near zones that are prone to flooding including arroyos, to take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for major flooding.

The sandbags are being distributed at Vinton City Hall parking lot, located at 436 E. Vinton Rd., Vinton, Texas.

Residents can pick them up at any time of the day throughout the week.

For more information, the Vinton City Hall can be reached at (915) 886–5104.
