S:12 E:5 Picking Up on Pop Music

It’s evident that the music industry has changed drastically over the 2000s, but in that time span, has pop music been left behind? Or better yet, what even constitutes pop music? Well, thanks to those in The Prospector who truly know about contemporary tunes, we answer those questions. Plus! The hero of wrestling is a hero no more. We break down John Cena’s turn to the dark side, aka a “heel” turn, and discuss what it means for the future of the WWE. Also–we can’t ignore spring break, when some of our staff decided to take a group hike.

Sebastian Perez-Navarro is a sophomore majoring in communication studies. He hosts The Prospector Digest, UTEP’s student led podcast. He is a freelance Play-by-Play broadcaster for 600 ESPN El Paso in Football, Basketball, and more. Sebastian is a proud member of the University’s Speech and Debate Team. There, he competes in extemporaneous, impromptu, and argumentative settings. Currently, Sebastian is the UTEP beat writer for the Texas Sports Network.
