The El Paso Zoo Society is hosting their first “Rock-n-Roar” event from 6:30p.m.-10:30 p.m. July 2 at the El Paso Zoo where they will have vendors, artists, silent disco, activities for kids, and more. Tickets are on sale now at elpasozoosociety.org.

As the heat turns up this summer, ways to cool down and enjoy the sun are popping up across the city including the first ever Rock-N-Roar Event at the El Paso Zoo, located at 4001 E. Paisano Drive. El Pasoans are invited to enjoy a variety of events across the zoo including a silent disco, information forums for endangered species, animal encounters, and local vendors as well from 6:30-10:30 p.m. July 2.

The event hopes to bring everyone across the borderland to stop by and have fun learning about the animals at the zoo and across the world, while also listening to live local performers.

Performing throughout the night and across the zoo will be Elia Esparza, Amaras Eyes, Kikimora to name a few. However, there is one performer who is excited to perform for the first time ever since starting his career in 2020.

“I recently started music at the peak of the pandemic, so having the opportunity to hit the stage for the first time is something to be excited for,” said Josh Galindo, an up-and-coming singer in El Paso. “I’m a little bit nervous, but I sing all the time in front of people. It’ll be cool to do it in a different setting.”

You can find Josh and other performers between the stages set up throughout the zoo. Vendors such as All That Music, – a local vinyl store, will have a table set up where they will have vinyl on sale for those in attendance. Other tables that will be at the event will be an arts and crafts section, the electric zoo carnival for all ages, and a photo booth.

Throughout the night, guests are asked to participate in raffles which include gift cards to All That Music and gift baskets for the whole family. Being a first for many at the Rock-N-Roar event, the El Paso Zoo Society has set standards high and invites everyone to come out.

Tickets are on sale now starting at $20 for individuals and $100 for a package of six for everyone 2 years old and up; you can buy them online at elpasozoosociety.org. If you have any questions about tickets or sponsor packages, contact The El Paso Zoo Society at 915-212-0245.
