Pride Month, the annual June festival that celebrates the LGBTQ community, is celebrating its 12th edition in El Paso.

Events scheduled to take place in the borderland include Pride Night with the El Paso Chihuahuas, and the annual Pride Parade and Pridefest on June 22.

The Pride Parade will be even more meaningful this year due to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising where LGBTQ New Yorkers liberated themselves and started a movement of social justice and awareness.

The El Paso parade will have the motto “Celebrating Today by Remembering the Past”.

Below is a list of official events that will be sponsored by Sun City Pride:

  • Sunday Splash Party at Wet n’ Wild on  from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM on June 2.
  • Pride Night at EPIC on 510 N Stanton at 7:30 PM June 8. Gates open at 6:30 and tickets ranging from $16-$20 can be purchased at EPIC.
  • Pride Parade at Houston Park on from 8:15 AM – 10:30 AM on June 22

In addition, the El Paso Chihuahuas will be hosting Pride Night at Southwest University Park on June 13. The first 1500 attendees with paid admission will receive a free pride flag so it is encouraged to arrive before the 7:05 PM scheduled start.
