UT Board of Regents to vote, select finalist for UTEP President

UPDATE: Vote to select president postponed

The UT System Board of Regents have interviewed potential candidates to become UTEP’s newest president and succeed current president Diana Natalicio.

The board will convene on Monday, March 4 and vote to select a finalist.  

The Board if Regents held a regular scheduled meeting Feb. 26 and 27 in Austin, Texas.

In executive session Feb. 27, the board discussed and appropriated “action regarding individual personnel matters related to the presidential search.”

No word on how many candidates were interviewed. Interviews also included an introduction of spouses to the Board of Regents.

The naming of a finalist was a possibility at this morning’s meeting, according to the meeting agenda. 

On Feb. 13, the Board moved to interview the candidates in a special meeting via telephone conference call.

No word if the vote will happen via telephone conference call or with all the Board of Regents present in Austin, Texas.
