El Paso artist leaves hometown to expand his horizons

January 29, 2019

“Los Visionaries” or “Los Visionarios” are an art collective from El Paso that consists of artists with many talents: painters, poets, musicians, composers, hair stylist, dancers, etc. The collective was formed four to five years ago with 11 artists who are currently active in the El Paso art scene.

Original member from the crew, Rick Uribe, also known as Enks, held his final goodbye to El Paso in his solo exhibition “No Pasa Nada” at Power at the Pass on Dec. 14-15 with the help of a few  members from the collective. Enks is a street artist from Cd. Juarez/El Paso and a tattoo artist at Inklination Tattoo shop. Enks was a Skin Wars Season 3 winner, a body-painting reality show competition.

Enks moved to California on Thursday, Jan. 3 to “conquer the world with his art.”

Power at the Pass business partner Valentin Sandoval hopes to keep an open relationship with UTEP to feature students’ work once a month.
