El Paso singer Khalid was included in the list of the “30 Most Influencing Teens of 2017” by Time.

The “American Teen” singer won the MTV Music Video Award for Best New Artist this past August and his debut song “Location” is positioned at No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the hit was certified platinum.

“America today feels like a scary place for many people—people of color, DREAMEers, women, the LGBTQ community,” he told Time. “It’s the young people of America, the teens, who have the power to create change.”

The list includes Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown, Dance Moms dancer Maddie Ziegler and Jaden Smith among others.
