Destination El Paso has announced a new film commissioner. The El Paso Film Commission has named Drew Mayer-Oakes Film Commission Coordinator for the Visit El Paso division.

Mayer-Oakes will assist the Film Commissioner with developing, marketing, and promoting El Paso to attract film productions. He will also coordinate the site visits.

Mayer-Oakes, a Lubbock native, is experienced in film-related marketing, program implementation and marketing and has working in different cities and organization such as the City of San Antonio Film Commission, Texas Film Commission, Houston Film Commission and Film Las Cruces.

“[Mayer-Oakes’] experience and knowledge will be instrumental in expanding the already impressive film presence in El Paso and the surrounding area,” said Bryan Crowe, General Manager for Destination El Paso. “He comes to us with valuable skills that are already beginning to make their presence felt within the local industry.”

Mayer-Oakes is a graduate The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Radio-TV-Film and completed his post graduate studies at the University of California at Los Angeles.
