The UTEP football team will pay tribute to public safety officers and agencies for the El Paso County in their opening game of the season against Rice on Sept. 9.

The recognition came after coach Sean Kugler reached out to David Bailiff, head coach for Rice, and offered the team’s football facilities after Rice’s  facilities were flooded by Hurricane Harvey.

Rice respectfully declined the offer and will resume practice and training in Dallas or Fort Worth next week.
