In a one-sided victory, the Chihuahuas defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 8-1 on Friday night and won the series 3-1.

With the victory, El Paso rests in second place and only two games behind first place. They still have 16 games left on their schedule in the season with playoff hopes still in mind.

Christian Villanueva opened the opportunities for El Paso on the batting side with an RBI double in the first inning to give them an early 2-0 lead. Nick Buss led the team on Friday, batting 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Jose Rondon chipped in with two doubles of his own and Rafael Ortega batted an impressive 3-for-5 with a double.

On their hot streak, El Paso has won two of their past three series. Next up, El Paso will travel to Tacoma on Saturday with first place hopes in the back of their heads.
