Sun City Roller Girls return to the hardwood on Sunday

Season nine of roller derby action returns to El Paso on Sunday, June 15, with “Brawlesque,” presented by the El Paso Country Coliseum and the Sun City Roller Girls.

The event will feature two showdowns on the day. Chuco Town Chulas will take on the Sexecutioners first, followed by Las Vuidas Negras and Las Diablas. The roller derby event is set for a 6 p.m start at the El Paso Country Coliseum.

In the current standings, Las Catrinas leads the league with a 2-0 mark and 389 bout points. The Sexecutioners follow with 119 points (0-1), Chuco Town Chulas (113, 0-1), Las Diablas (109, 0-1) and Las Vuidas (94, 1-0) sit last.

The Sun City Roller Girls (SCRG) are a non-profit, women-owned and operated roller derby league. Founded in June of 2008, SCRG promotes unity, camaraderie, charity and strength through themselves and their community, while welcoming women of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds.

Tickets will be $10 at the door while military can get in for $7 with a valid military ID. Kids ages 10 and under get in free. Other locations you can get tickets are at The Pershing Inn, All That Music, Blue Panda Tattoo, and Uptown Cheapskate.
