With a dominant weekend defending the Conference USA championship title in Charlotte, N.C., the Miners men’s cross country team climbed up from No. 21 to No. 15 in the nation.

In the championships, UTEP defeated second-place Middle Tennessee (ranked No. 26) 24-36. Honors from C-USA included Jonah Koech, Cosmas Boit (Oustanding Senior of the Meet), Antony Kosgei and Michael Saruni.

Next up, the Miners will participate in NCAA Mountain Regionals, which will be held in Logan, Utah on Nov. 11, in hopes to qualify for NCAA Cross Country Championships.
