After their dominant second place campaign in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational over the weekend, the UTEP men’s cross country team leaped to a 12th place ranking in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association top-30 poll.

In the invitational, the Miners took silver after knocking out ninth-ranked Eastern Kentucky. They were only 16 points behind Ole Miss, who came up first place in the meet.

Led by sophomore Jonah Keoch’s fifth place race, the Miners made noise in the South Bend meet. After Keoch was sophomore Antony Kosgei who finished seventh.

Next week the Miners will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the NCAA Pre-Nationals starting Oct. 15.
