PHOTOS: UTEP’s annual “El Grito” ceremony celebrating Mexico’s Independence day was held Sept. 15 at the Union plaza. Students and faculty gathered in the festive plaza to watch and listen to the performances. The ceremony was led by the Consul General of Mexico Marcos Bucio. Also in attendance was president Diana Natalicio, Banda de Guerra y Escolta from the Instituto Tecnologico de Ciudad Juárez, Mariachi Frontera and Ballet Folklorico Quetzales.
