PHOTOS: The Office of Student Life hosted a memorial on Friday, September 9 at the Centennial Plaza to remember the victims and heros of September 11, 2001. The UTEP ROTC Color Guard did the presentation of Colors and the UTEP Concert Chorale sang the national anthem and “America the Beautiful.” Guest speaker former NYPD officer, 24th Precinct Lt. John Schneider spoke about his experience as a police officer at New York City during the terrorism attack, while guest speaker Kagan Richard, a graduate student studying environmental science spoke about his experience in another state. Tiny American flags were placed in the grass in memory of the 15th anniversary of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
