UTEP Dinner Theatre to hold auditions for ‘Priscilla’

The UTEP Dinner Theatre is hosting auditions for “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” at 7 p.m., May 31 at the UTEP Dinner Theatre. Those interested in auditioning must prepare a song with a piano accompaniment. The sheet music is required, but a pianist will be provided. Along with the song, those auditioning will be required to read from the script of the show.

The auditions are open to both men and women ages 16 and up. One position is open for a boy between the ages of 8 and 11.

“Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” is an Australian comedy-drama musical that follows two drag queens and a transgender woman who travel through the desert to a resort town in Australia to put on a drag show.

The musical is coming to the UTEP Dinner Theatre on Sept. 30, and will continue throughout October. Rehearsals begin Aug. 22. For more information, call 747-6060.
