From start to finish the Charlotte 49ers dominated the UAB Blazers winning 80-70 to advance to the Conference USA quarterfinals.

It was a team win for the 49ers, four players got to double figures and sophomore guard Denzel Ingram led the pack with 18 points and a perfect four-of-four from the three-point line.

The 49ers shot 50 percent from the field and an efficient 50 percent from downtown as opposed to the Blazers who struggled from every shooting aspect.

UAB struggled all game long shooting 44 percent from the field, 34 percent from three and a horrid 37 percent from the free throw line. Junior guard Chad Frazier was the lone Blazer in double figures with 19 points on seven for 17 shooting.

The Blazers were without two key player’s forwards junior C.J. Washington and senior Rod Rucker. UAB now ends their season at 18-13, this was the last game for five Blazers and UAB has the second most seniors of any team in Conference USA.

With the win Charlotte goes to 17-13 and will face the No.1 seed Louisiana Tech in the quarterfinals. Earlier this year the Bulldogs defeated the 49ers by 20 points 80-60. The Bulldogs and 49ers will face off tomorrow night at the Haskins Center.
