UTEP dared to grab Texas by the horns and gave them a run for their money

Brief: In their first matchup against the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) (2-1, 0-0, Southeastern Conference) since 2020, The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) (1-2, 0-0 Conference USA) fell to the Longhorns on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. UT Austin defeated the Miners 27-10 in the non-conference game. Despite the loss, the game marked UTEP’s narrowest margin against the Longhorns.

Sebastian Perez-Navarro is a sophomore majoring in communication studies. He Hosts UTEP’s student led Prospector Podcast, is a Play-By-Play broadcaster who has transmitted for ESPN+/Minervision in Softball and has called Football and Basketball games for 600 ESPN El Paso. Sebastian is a proud member of the UTEP Speech and Debate Team. There, he competes in extemporaneous, impromptu, platform and argumentative settings. He is currently serving as Vice President for the University’s National Association of Hispanic Journalists Chapter.
