To put it simply, “A Minecraft Movie” is what I would consider a “cinematic event.”
After going through a number of delays and changes, the live action adaptation of the wildly popular sandbox video game Minecraft has been an anticipated film for over a decade. Finally, after years of waiting, “A Minecraft Movie” has hit the big screen.
After the success of other video game movie adaptations such as the “Sonic the Hedgehog” trilogy and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” the Minecraft movie hopes to follow in their footsteps.
The film is a goofy and quite charming adventure movie with comedy at its core. The film takes many aspects from the beloved game and brings them to life for audiences all over the world to see.
The best part of the film was Jack Black’s successful performance as Steve with Jason Momoa balancing out the comedic timing. Without any spoilers “A Minecraft Movie” follows the story of an unlikely team and their adventure in Minecraft’s Overworld facing trouble and overcoming obstacles along the way.
“A Minecraft Movie” has already made a name for itself, not only for breaking projections in box office revenue but even starting a trend of chaotic theater goers on social media, no doubt cementing it in movie history.
