Singer and songwriter Anastasia Elliot is set to perform in a benefit concert honoring the victims of the Aug. 3 shooting while raising funds for the Great Khalid Foundation’s music education programs Thursday, Jan. 23.
The performance will be held at the Lowbrow Palace at 8 p.m. Doors open an hour before with Judah Holiday as the opening act. Tickets are $10 and can be bought here.
“Our hearts ached for El Paso after what happened last year and we knew we had to do something,” Elliot said in a news release. “With a benefit concert we can bring music and make a contribution to an organization that’s spreading hope across the city.”
The Great Khalid Foundation Music in Schools Instrument program provides new musical instruments to public schools for student rental programs. Musical instrumental rental programs offer students and their parents reduced rental rates so that no child is turned away from music education because of financial reasons.
“We’ve had the opportunity to spend time with Anastasia and her team and their dedication to El Paso is heartwarming,” Linda Wolfe, executive director of the Great Khalid Foundation said. “We are honored to be named the beneficiary of this special event.”
A limited amount of Night for Sun City shirts will be for sale after the performance. Elliot’s next performance is in Austin, Texas, at Love Goat on Friday, Jan. 24.
