“The Voice” has risen above other reality singing competitions as America’s favorite. Since the beginning, three years ago, the popularity of its unique style captivated the American audience.

The selection of the coaches is one of the main attractions to the show. The first season’s coaches were Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Shelton and Levine have remained coaches through all six seasons of the show, while Shakira and Usher have alternated with Green and Aguilera. The rumor is that Green and Aguilera are not returning to the next season. The anticipation is high to see who will take their chairs.

The show is aired every week on Mondays and Tuesdays, andat this point in the season, the top 12 are competing to be the next “Voice.” The format of the shoe is very interesting, because it changed the way the public interacts with the contestants and the coaches.

Twitter, Facebook and Instagram play an important part in the dynamics of the show. I believe that these options have helped the public feel more connected to the competitors and the coaches, and at the same time, it gives the public the power to decide who to save and who to eliminate.

Another plus that I see is the renowned artists who serve as coaches. The executives of the show have had a good selection of the artists to cover different genres of music and to target different audiences. This mixture of talents is the hook of the show. For example, Shakira represents the Latin community as well as pop.

The camaraderie between the coaches is obvious and the show has benefited by this. The audience can see the way they talk with one another, and although they compete to form their teams their friendship is evident. Adding even more to the show is the addition of other artist, who act as advisors to the coaches and as mentors to the contestants. This gives a little bit more of star power to the show. For example, this season some of the advisors had been Miranda Lambert and Chris Martin from Cold Play.

The contestants are pretty good this season, and it seems that as the show progresses the talent level goes up. It is hard to predict who will be the next “Voice” because they are all so good. Even for the coaches, it is difficult to eliminate their own contestants.

In a few weeks, we will all know who will be the winner of season six of “The Voice” and of course the proud coach!
